私は長崎県で生まれ育ちましたが、18歳から県外での生活が続いていました。実際、長崎や私の故郷についてはあまり知らない状態でした。しかし、3年前に帰郷し、初めは知らないことが多く、都会生活に慣れていたため、楽しむことができる要素が少ないと感じていました。それにも関わらず、じっくりと地元を探索するうちに、美しい自然やその恵み、そして多くの施設に気づきました。
I was born and raised in Nagasaki Prefecture, but I had been living outside the prefecture since I was 18. In fact, I didn’t know much about Nagasaki or my hometown. However, when I returned home three years ago, I initially felt there was little to enjoy due to my familiarity with urban life. Nevertheless, as I took the time to explore my hometown, I discovered its beautiful nature, its blessings, and many facilities.
多くの人々が関東や関西、さらには九州の中心である福岡と比較すると、長崎は交通の便が良いとは言えません。そのため、多くの人々が訪れる場所ではないかもしれません。しかし、長崎には豊かな歴史があり、地元の人しか知らないような観光スポットや、それが観光と呼べるのか疑問に思うような場所も存在します。それらの場所には、その時代の生活が深く根付いており、それが地元ならではの魅力となっています。
Many people, when comparing with regions like Kanto, Kansai, or even the hub of Kyushu, Fukuoka, might say that Nagasaki is not easily accessible. Therefore, it might not be a popular destination for many. However, Nagasaki has a rich history, and there are tourist spots that only locals might know about, or places that one might wonder if they can even be called “tourist spots”. These places deeply reflect the lifestyle of their respective eras, making them uniquely charming.
私は、長崎の魅力的でニッチな側面を多くの人々に知ってもらいたいと思っています。このニッチは、地域や地方の特色であり、個人の背景を通じて交流し、統合され、新しい日本文化を形成していくと考えています。地方には新しい文化の波が始まるきっかけがあるのではないかと感じています。
I am eager for many people to discover the unique and niche aspects of Nagasaki. This niche represents the characteristics of regions and localities. I believe that through individual backgrounds, these characteristics interact and integrate, shaping a new Japanese culture. I feel that local areas might be the starting point for waves of new cultural movements.
